A suspected medication junkie, Kehinde Olatubosun, says he picks medicine papers from the waste receptacles of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, and has made over N300,000 in one month, asking Lagosians to help him with cash to purchase the medications.
Olatunbosun, 56, who was captured alongside 18 other suspected medication addicts at a joint in Ipodo, Ikeja, by the Lagos State Command’s Rapid Response Squad, included that he preyed the amicableness of Lagosians.
It was assembled that a group of RRS men had on Friday followed a stolen telephone to the joint, prompting the capture of three suspected cell telephone cheats, three suspected hard medication merchants and 13 suspected medication addicts.
One of them, Olatunbosun, expressed that he was not a cheat, but rather a trickster, who typically made over N10,000 day by day asking on Mobolaji Bank Anthony Road, Toyin Street and Opebi Road.
"I make over N10,000 every day doing corporate asking. Each day, I am dependably on Mobolaji Bank Anthony Road, Toyin Street and Opebi Road asking for cash.
"I get LASUTH drug remedy papers from their waste containers. With the papers in my grasp, I persuade drivers, travelers and bystanders that I have a relative who is in dare need of cash to purchase drugs and I demonstrat to them the medicine papers.
"This is the thing that I have been doing since I was extradited from Germany in 2004. Tragically, all the cash I make from asking goes into medications. I profit on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. I make more than N10,000 every day.
"I was in Ipodo drug joint, Ikeja, when I was captured. I was on medication when I was gotten. I have never been captured for any offense. I am imploring that RRS discharge me. I guarantee I won’t do a reversal to tranquilize once more."
In the interim, another suspect, Dada Ajayi, said he was powerless against hard medications.
He said, "For over 17 years, I have been dependent on hard drugs. I visit that joint since I have no place to go. I have experienced the better portion of my life expending drugs.
"At this moment, I have lost my family on account of medication enslavement. I don’t know where to begin my life once more. I can’t quit setting off to that medication joint since it is the main spot where I get encouragement. It is the main spot where I am content with myself.
"In the event that anyone needs to help us, they ought to capture the medication aristocrats or merchants. Capturing us won’t take care of medication issue on the grounds that without the venders, there won’t be the clients. You capture the merchants, then you have cut the store network and have along these lines kept us from getting the medications. Without that, we will dependably discover our courses back to medication joints at whatever point we are discharged."
