Today marks the birthday of one of the brain behind the new generation entertainment industry, the CEO Sengemenge Entertainment & Def Work promotions, an entertainment outfit located in the heart of Calabar, CRS and Surulere Lagos with music production specialty.

Charles Simeon A.K.A Senge-menge, is the fourth in a family of six, an extrovert, Taurus by nature, he is madly in love with entertainment, likes helping people. The good-news for the ladies is he is single and searching seriously.

Mr. Senge-Menge grew up in Surulere area of Lagos State, where he attended AUD High School, Falolu Road, Surulere Lagos. He describes his growing up as average. His passion for entertainment was birthed in secondary school while he was in art class; he joined the school’s drama club, along with his friends, they formed a social club- Maida’s Boys (in which some prefects in school then were members). This social club was responsible for the organizing and hosting of parties back then; Mr. Senge-menge says he hid all these from his parents because most African parents won’t smile at you if they notice you’re involved in any form of activities distracting you from your primary aim in school.
After an unsuccessful trial to get into the University of Lagos, Senge-menge had a rethink and decided to leave Lagos to a city far away from home where he would have the total and complete freedom to pursue his passion for entertainment; He decided to apply for the University of Calabar, got admitted in 2005 where he studied Marketing.
As a Marketing student, he delved into campus politics, he met Emma A.K.A. Pimpi and Maurice A.K.A Phatmoore where they formed another social club; this club was responsible for parties and football competitions at that time in their first and second year in school.
In his sophomore year, Senge-menge contested as Director of Socials at the Faculty of Management Sciences and emerged successful. He was given the name “Senge-menge “(meaning enjoyment) by his fellow students due to his flare for social events; he held this position for two years. As the then Director of Socials, he successfully defeated the Faculty of Arts in the Student Union Government (SUG) students carnival which the faculty of Arts had held for seven years undefeated. He took this trophy back to back in the series ( 2008 & 2009). He successfully organized pool side parties and football competitions for his Faculty during his tenure. He was among the committee that organized the first University of calabar cultural festival. He joined his political friends to form a stake holder caucus called “The House Above Every Other House” the objective was to achieve political goals of its members & welfare of other students on campus. They succeeded in gaining political posts like, SUG Speaker, SUG Sergeant @ arms, SUG parliament Finance & Appropriation Chairman, SUG Chairman on Security, SUG Women Affairs, Faculty of Management Science Student Association (Famssa) Vice president, Famssa Director of social (Senge-Menge), Famssa Director of Welfare, Famssa Senators, Department of Marketing President, Marketing Director of Socials & Class reps. All these positions were held by members of this House, from the same Marketing Department. The house played a major role in installing SUG presidents, other positions in other faculties too. After his tenure he was appointed the chairman Electoral Committee of the Department of Marketing. That electoral body delivered free and fair elections, also installed a government for Department of Marketing.
He founded Lagos Base Students Association (LABSA) and also became the 1st president. (this association later dwindled because of the incompetence of his successors).
He won SUG Best Faculty Director of Social. 2008 (Award)
Department of Marketing social man of the year 2009 (Award)
FAMSSA Honorary Active Member 2009 (Award)
FAMSSA Ambassador 2009 (Award)
Senge-menge Participated actively in church activities in St. Paul’s Catholic. Church, University of Calabar. He was also a member of the Theatre Catholica, (a famous drama group in the church).  He rose to the position of stage manager and later became the director respectively; he directed so many productions (drama & dance) performed in and outside the parish. He co-directed the movie passion of Christ shot by the Theatre Catholica, Saint Paul’s Parish in the University of Calabar. The movie is still on sale.
He became Nigerian Federation of Catholic Students (NFCS) week chairman 2009, He organized and hosted a successful student week for the St. Paul’s parish.
Senge-Menge graduated from Ken-Steve  School Acting in 2007.

Charles Simeon birthed his Senge-Menge Entertainment  in 2012; The nickname “Senge-Menge” later became a house hold name and was Registered officially as an entertainment outfit with corporate affairs Commission of Nigeria. The company handles events management, music productions and promotions, it started with four unofficial artists. Senge-menge founded,  successfully organized and hosted his first test-run event with the company; Ettaagbo Crescent street Jamz. Later held Hood Outburst a rap competition in 2013 in Calabar, with season 2 of Ettagbo Crescent Street Jamz in 2014 respectively, sponsored by BlackBerry Company.
Senge_menge currently has two official artists signed to the Senge-Menge Entertainment label.
The vision is to become one of the major entertainment / event companies in Nigeria and beyond. In his words, “the Calabar entertainment industry is still behind compared to that of Lagos and Port-Harcourt, due to lack of major investors, though the Calabar carnival is there as a global platform for artist publicity, the Calabar artists and the industry here are not taking full advantage of this publicity; the artists have a major role to play. However, the government also has a role to play by allowing private investors to set up more radio and television stations as it is in places like Lagos, Abuja and Port-Harcourt.”
So far, Senge-menge through his outfit Senge-Menge Entertainment has partnered with Soundcore media in hosting a club tour for artists like Rayce across Calabar, Uyo and Port-Harcourt and other south-south / South Eastern states.

Mr. Senge-menge says he would rather spend his money on investments.
Senge-Menge Entertainment  has created a promotional department “Defworkz Promotion & Artist’s booking Agency”, with a primary goal of publicizing its clients and making them more famous as artists.
The department train, package and motivate musical talents. This department promotes good songs, organize tours and book artists for events of all sorts.
